Hey all – Jackass has got a plan for anyone that wants to go watch the Tour De Georgia on Sunday.

We will be gathering at some random house on Glen Iris (see below for directions, but it is someone that Jackass knows and has permission).

The circuit goes past Glen Iris twice, on Highland Ave. & on Ralph McGill 3 blocks apart. So, since there are 9 laps, we could see them go past 18 times. Also, it isn’t that far down to Centennial Park, so if you are worried about not seeing the finish line, you could head over there after a few laps.

Race starts at 1PM, roads will be closed, so get there early, they should pass by on Highland at about 1:05. They are predicting the finish to be probably between 3:15-4:00

Please call him 770.596.7727 or email him (ritebike@hotmail.com  ) to make arrangements for your beverages (BEER) & snacks of choice, if you can not carry them on your back. Also, please chip in a buck or two for ice. The Wheelhopper hash is NOT supplying the beer this year.

He is suggesting parking near his house, or at the Home Depot, and then riding your bike to the viewing area.  

DIRECTIONS TO JACKASS’s HOUSE TO DROP ANYTHING OFF ON SATURDAY NIGHT
- Exit at 10th St.
- Turn to the East, towards Piedmont Park
- Cross over Piedmont Rd.
- After Piedmont Rd., you will see a flashing yellow light, turn right here onto Argonne Ave.
- Drive south on Argonne Ave until you reach 4th St.  It is a 4 way stop.
- Turn left onto 4th St.
- Go 1 block to Durant Pl., turn right here.
- Jackass lives at 704 Durant Pl., Apt. A.
- Park in this area.  We will be cooking out afterwards.  Jackass will furnish Grill, Charcoal, and paper plates only.
 
Directions from Jackass house to RACE VIEWING/BEER DRINKING location.
- Durant Pl., go South to Ponce De Leon Blvd.
- Turn Left onto Ponce
- Go to 3rd light and turn right onto Glen Iris.  Cactus Carwash is on the right hand side.
- The house is between Ralph McGill and Highland, on the right.  The house is blue.  Look for my truck in the driveway.
 
Directions from the Home Depot parking lot to RACE VIEWING/BEER DRINKING location.
- Turn right out of parking lot onto Ponce.
- Turn left at the light onto Glen Iris, turn before the Cactus Carwash, it will be on the left.
- The house is between Ralph Mcgill and Highland, on the right.  The house is blue.  Look for my truck in the driveway.
 
Also – if anyone is interested, Jackass has a grill & says anyone is welcome to come by after the race. You can drop off food for that the night before as well.

Bring your own beer, and other drinks.  We are not supplying beer this year. 

Big props to Jackass.  This was a PERFECT spot to watch the race.  We were able to see the peloton 2x per lap quite easily.  Thanks to Jackass for being the grill master back at his place, also.  This guy really does have management potential.  I know, I can't believe I just typed that either.

And my Dad said I would never amount to SHIT!  I am glad that I was able to host all of those that showed up.  I enjoy the times that I can provide a good time for others.  Looking forward to Clemson.  The camper is now ready for occupancy.  I just have a few minor things left, but I have made reservations for Unicoi St. Park in Helen for next weekend.  Mark, thanks for the endorsement.  Will see you at Clemson for sure.
