Holla'.... details below.
Visit Georgia’s Rome and have a taste of some of the best brews from around the world. The First Annual Rome Beer Festival will be held Saturday, September 20 from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at Heritage Park.
“This is a great opportunity to sample beers not commonly seen in Rome’s restaurants and retailers,” said event organizer Scott Moody. “The tasting will allow one to experience many different products in one setting and in one afternoon.”
The Rome Beer Festival will have over 50 beers for sampling, food vendors, and live entertainment. Event attendees will receive a 5oz. commemorative plastic glass for sampling. In addition, several downtown restaurants will be participating by offering those attending the tasting unique specials Saturday evening.
“We wish to promote awareness and facilitate concerns with alcohol consumption and abuse,” said Moody. “Our goal is to offer a safe environment, a wonderful atmosphere, and lots of fun for those attending.” Booths will be available on site to help educate parents on how to discuss alcohol use with their teenagers. Safe Ride America will be available to give attendees without a Designated Driver (and their vehicles) a free ride home.
The event cost is $25.00. Proceeds from this event benefit the Rome Area Council for the Arts (RACA). Tickets are available through The Forum Civic Center box office, online at www.forumevents.org, and from the RACA showroom at 248 Broad Street. Designated Driver tickets will be available for $10 at the gate the day of the festival when accompanying someone with a ticket. Only 1,000 tickets will be available for this event.
The rain date is Sunday, September 21 from 1:00-5:00p.m. at The Forum.
