new start is Laurel Point parking lot. Bigger better parking lot, should be not too far from the other parking lot. Raccoon Mtn - Just West of downtown Chattanooga. Special start time 12:00 gather, 12;30 start (EASTERN TIME) due to the heat & the hares request. WineHo & GE had a blast riding these trails last weekend and wanted us to all enjoy them. DO NOT MISS IT!

Start time: 12:00 gather, 12:30 start.

There is camping & cabins right there at Raccoon Mtn - just google it, you'll get all kinds of info. Anyone interested in camping, please post it on the wheelhopper.com forum, so we know who is going & can hook you all up. GE & WineHo are not camping, and Service & Primer haven't discussed it yet, so we don't know.

DIRECTIONS:

plan on 1.5 to 2 hours depending where you are starting from.

75 N into Tennessee
Take Exit 2, I-24 towards Nashville/Chattanooga
Go 10.2 miles on I-24
Take Exit 175 Brown Ferry's Rd
Take a right onto Browns Ferry Rd, Go 1 Mile

Left Elder Mtn Road Go 2 miles

Take immediate Left right after TVA sign

BEAR LEFT at stop sign towards the open automatic gate

Go about 1.5 miles to the top of the mountain.

East Overlook is NOT the start now.

There will be a long, and short option.

IF YOU ARE A ROAD WARRIER AT HEART, YOU MAY BRING YOUR ROAD BIKE. THE ROAD LOOP IS APPROXIMATELY 6-7 MILES LONG.
